Job Description

The Lift Operator plays an essential role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of ski lifts, which are integral to the functioning of ski resorts. This position involves overseeing the safe embarkation and disembarkation of guests on the lifts, maintaining a watchful eye for any potential safety issues, and providing clear instructions to guests to ensure their safety. Additionally, the Lift Operator is responsible for conducting regular checks and minor maintenance on the lift equipment to ensure it is in good working order. Through their attentive oversight and interaction with guests, they contribute significantly to the overall experience, ensuring that guests can move around the resort with ease. Responsibilities:

• Operate safe lifts while meeting or exceeding all applicable governing agency codes and laws as well as manufacturer recommendations
• Planning and scheduling of work for maintenance activities and special projects, troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments
• Safely guide and direct the preparation of a lift for operational use
• Collaborates and works closely with all applicable departments to align with and assist in operational goals, mission, and vision
• Ensures that the lift maintenance department is preparing and storing the appropriate and applicable operations
• and maintenance documentation, including but not limited to the daily, weekly, monthly, mid, and annual inspections of lift equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years or older
• Be familiar with lift service and maintenance documentation, safety bulletins, drawings, parts catalogs, and industry-specific codes and requirements
• Have a familiarity with general mechanical concepts and principles related to hydraulics, lubrication, power transmission, rotating machinery, and basic electricity
• Have a working knowledge of industry-related tasks such as rigging and lifting, general ropeway maintenance principles and procedures, and industrial safety
• Must be able to climb ladders and lift towers
• Able to work with hand tools and power tools and perform necessary work functions while wearing a full-body harness or other personal protective equipment
