We're looking for a Senior Estimator who is ready to take ownership of our estimating and preconstruction efforts. This person will play a critical strategic role —managing the estimate process, expanding our customer base, growing the company backlog, and mentoring the next generation of estimators.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and Grow Company Backlog

• Strategically increase backlog across project types and geographies.
• Consistently bring in projects that align with company goals and profitability targets.
• Maintain bid logs and detailed backlog reports.
• Deliver quarterly backlog and sales performance summaries to executive leadership.

Lead and Manage the Estimating Process

• Produce clear, competitive, and accurate estimates for multi-family electrical projects.
• Deep understanding of market pricing, labor, and material cost trends.
• Review drawings, scope of work, and specifications thoroughly.
• Provide scope breakdowns, alternates, clarifications, and VE options.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate quotes.
• Maintain and update the job calendar and ensure estimate milestones are met.

Customer Development & Business Growth

• Identify and pursue new client relationships and project opportunities.
• Research and build a target list of key developers, GCs, and opportunities.
• Identify new geographic or service expansion potential.
• Represent the company professionally in all business development efforts.

Customer Retention & Relationship Management

• Strengthen existing GC and developer relationships through consistent communication and value delivery.
• Understand client preferences, project goals, and how to best serve their needs long-term.

Support Design/Build & Preconstruction

• Manage design coordination in early-phase D/B or D/B-B projects.
• Work closely with engineers, architects, and owners to guide designs that meet budget and constructability goals.

Project Handoff and Transition

• Work with project managers and general managers to transition awarded projects seamlessly.
• Provide detailed scope reviews and estimation assumptions for accurate project startup.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Train, develop, and guide junior and assistant estimators.
• Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the estimating team.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience, with a focus on multi-family or similar commercial/residential projects.
• Deep understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction methodologies.
• Proficient in Accubid , LiveCount , Bluebeam , and MS Excel/Outlook.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in growing company backlog and winning competitive bids.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience with CAD or 3D design software is a plus.
• Project management background is a bonus but not required.
