Senior Supplier Development Engineer – Plastics

Join a global diagnostics leader as a Senior Supplier Development Engineer , where you’ll play a critical role in supporting and scaling cutting-edge manufacturing solutions that directly impact patient care around the world.

In this role, you’ll partner with injection molding suppliers and cross-functional teams across engineering, quality, and operations. You’ll help troubleshoot production challenges, drive supplier performance, and support new product introductions—all while working in a collaborative environment that values both innovation and professional growth.

What You’ll Do:

• Support plastic molding suppliers with day-to-day production engineering needs, including issue resolution and requalifications
• Act as the go-to liaison between internal teams and external suppliers for quality and validation topics
• Be a key player on new product and capacity expansion projects
• Identify and lead supplier improvement initiatives using data and analytics
• Evaluate tool health and manage repairs, spares, and refurbishments
• Track and analyze supplier performance metrics (OEE, FPY, tool availability, SPC)
• Recommend and coordinate design changes and engineering updates between teams
• Qualify and assess new and existing suppliers for technical capabilities

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Plastics, or Industrial Engineering (or similar field) with 5+ years of relevant experience , or Master’s with 3+ years
• Strong background in injection molding and tooling development
• Ability to read engineering drawings (GD&T) and work with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred)
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and processing

Bonus Points For:

• APICs certification
• Experience with SAP, Agile, and BOMs
• Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint
