Opportunity: Task Force Chief Engineer This position offers a talented leader the chance to demonstrate their expertise across the HHM Hotels portfolio as a Task Force Chief Engineer. The leader will manage maintenance teams on property and provide both short-term and long-term coverage. The role requires working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and adapting to various projects across different hotel types, including full-service, luxury, select service, extended-stay, and boutique properties, both branded and independent. Flexibility for extensive travel within the HHM Hotels portfolio is essential. Potential Career Path Area Chief Engineer – Regional Director of Engineering Essential Job Functions Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support staff, ensuring performance aligns with brand or hotel standards and HHM core values. Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs. Manage bids, quotes, and contracts for third-party vendors. Oversee small projects or PIPs, and monitor work progress. Install or repair drywall and other wall coverings. Paint designated areas and items. Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, and bulbs. Install, replace, and program televisions. Perform minor plumbing repairs. Maintain and repair HVAC systems, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, and keep accurate records. Maintain the building exterior and hotel grounds. Refurbish, paint, and finish furniture and fixtures as needed. Test and maintain hotel’s life safety systems to ensure full operational status. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes. Focus on guest satisfaction and departmental performance. Follow sustainability practices aligned with HHM’s EarthView program. Practice safety protocols, wear protective equipment, and adhere to MSDS and OSHA standards. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Position Requirements 3 to 5 years of managerial hospitality experience. Previous Marriott or Hilton experience preferred. Ability to stay on-site for short-term or long-term coverage. High School diploma or trade school coursework preferred. Relevant engineer/maintenance experience or equivalent training required. Certifications may be required. Work Environment and Context Variable work schedule, including holidays, weekends, or alternate shifts. 100% travel across hotels in the United States. Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
