Job Title: Physical Therapist I

Location: New York, NY 10003

Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM

Contract Length: 8 Weeks

Weekly Breakdown:
Weekly Gross: $2,136.00 Per Week 
On W2(Taxable): $680.00 Per Week 
Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,456.00 Per Week

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Physical Therapist I for a 60-day contract assignment. This entry-level role involves performing initial assessments, designing treatment plans, and delivering physical therapy interventions for a diverse patient population in an outpatient setting. The position is ideal for recent graduates (DPT required) looking to gain multi-disciplinary experience across outpatient, inpatient, and acute care services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive initial examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Implement and modify treatment interventions based on re-evaluations and patient progress.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Complete all required documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, monthly summaries, and discharge reports, in a timely manner.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, progress, and home exercise programs.
• Recommend and document durable medical equipment (DME) needs and write letters of medical necessity when appropriate.
• Participate in discharge planning and ensure proper follow-up recommendations.
• Cover additional caseloads as needed based on department staffing.
• Attend clinical meetings, rounds, and in-service education sessions.
• Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, attendance, and patient billing data.
• Supervise and mentor Rehab Patient Care Associates, students, and volunteers.

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required
• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred

Licensure/Certifications:

• Current New York State Physical Therapy License
• Active membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Experience:

• 0 to 1 year of clinical experience in physical therapy
• Outpatient Physical Therapy experience preferred
• Epic EMR system experience required

Skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Intermediate level)
