The Role: Potomac Fund Management is looking for a National Sales Manager , reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, to take the reins of our growing sales organization. This is a leadership role for someone who knows how to run the playbook, elevate it, and drive measurable growth. You’ll direct a team of 20 wholesalers (split evenly between external and internal), managing through your two Directors (External and Internal) and be responsible for any expansion of the team. Your mission? Execute our proven sales strategy, optimize team performance, and scale revenue in the RIA and independent broker-dealer channels. This isn’t a “managing from the sidelines” gig. You’ll be hands-on—coaching, recruiting, and holding people accountable while traveling enough to stay plugged in with the market and your team. What You’ll Do: Lead & Manage Oversee two Directors (External and Internal Sales), each managing 10 wholesalers. Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing sales team. Instill a culture of accountability, transparency, and measurable success. Execute & Expand Drive national sales execution across all 10 U.S. territories. Determine opportunities for regional expansion for additional territories as sales warrant additional focused support. Refine and elevate our existing sales playbook to keep Potomac ahead of the pack. Drive Results Own national sales targets for AUM growth, net flows, and advisor acquisition. Monitor KPIs and pipeline activity, making data-driven adjustments to optimize performance. Monitor scorecards through Directors to ensure speed doesn’t deteriorate quality. Create incentive plans to inspire success and the qualities we want to shine in the Potomac way. Stay Connected Travel (~30%) to industry conferences and team events to maintain visibility and presence. Review oversight of HubSpot to keep connected to the ground level trends within our sales team. Present at major events and conferences. Partner with marketing and compliance, and key accounts to align campaigns and advisor engagement initiatives. What You Bring: Proven success leading a national wholesaling team (20+ people) in mutual funds, SMAs, or similar investment products. Deep understanding of the RIA and independent broker-dealer space . Track record of executing and enhancing a sales strategy, not building one from scratch. A “player-coach” mindset: willing to get in the trenches when needed but skilled at building and empowering leaders. Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation and accountability-driving skills. Comfortable in a fast-paced, brutally transparent culture .
